Supplications (Du'as/Prayers) in Islam

Bismillaahirrahmaanirrahiim,

Du'a is part of 'Ibadaah (worship). And du'a is considered as a powerful weapon in Muslim life. As a Muslim, we are encouraged to make a lots of du'as because of our weakness, that we need Allah's help, protection and Allah's Mercy.

In this section, InshaAllah I would like to compile some of daily du'as that come from the Qur'an, as well as the practice of the Rasulullah SAW.
Entering and Leaving the Masjid

When entering the Masjid, one should recite the following Du'aa:

اللهم افتح لى ابواب رحمتك

Transliteration:

Allaahum-maf-Tahlee Abwaaba Rahmatika.

Meaning:

O Allaah, open the doors of Your Mercy for me.

Leaving the Masjid,

When leaving the masjid, one should recite the following Du'aa:

اللهم انى اسالك من فضلك

Transliteration:

Allaahum-ma In-nee As`aluka Min Fadhlika.

Meaning:

O Allaah, I seek of You Your Grace.

Du'a (prayer) for the sick person

When visiting the sick

Recite:

لَا بَأْسَ طَهُورٌ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ

"There is no problem, If Allah wills, He will purge your sins by this illness."
(Bukhari)

And recite this dua seven times for his good health

أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الْعَظِيمَ رَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ أَنْ يَشْفِيَكَ

"I ask Allah who is the Lofty and the Lord of the Mighty Throne that He cures you"

Prophet Mohammad (SAW.) said that by reciting this dua seven times, the ill person will regain his health and if death occurs then that (death) is a different issue (i.e. death is written it cannot be prevented).

(Mishkat)
